Customers can order by phone, (813) 907-0222, or on the company's Web site, www.mealcab.com. Each participating restaurant posts its full takeout menu and charges the same prices it does for its dine-in customers. MealCab adds a $3.99 delivery charge per restaurant.
"Most people who do takeout put it on the passenger seat, and by the time it gets home the food quality is down 30 percent," John Brosnan said. "We pack everything in hot and cold insulated bags."
Each driver will deliver one order at a time to ensure a timely delivery and quality product.
"When we first started going to restaurants, we knew we had a great idea," John Brosnan said. "People were really excited about the service. It doesn't cost the restaurants anything. We're doing a major marketing push."
